The Jonge Schaap is running, literally and figuratively, on its volunteers. Behind the counter, as tour guide and of course if they support sawyer miller in its work. The work at the mill is fun and social work. By participating in the Young Sheep will also help to preserve the cultural heritage of Zaandam. Tourism is, in addition to cutting and sale of timber, a major source of income. Are you geeinteresseerd or work as a volunteer with Young Sheep is right for you, then come along. We will talk you in. With a few hours a week or even a month we have been a great help.

We are looking for receptionists, guides and sawyers.

Desk clerks manning the cash register, are the first contact for visitors and provide information where necessary. Some knowledge of foreign languages, especially English, is very convenient.

Leaders around, it will not surprise you, guide visitors around. Our guests come from all over the world and are generally particularly interested in the mill. This is not surprising because cutting wood with the wind is a fascinating process. You tell the how and why of the saw, the history of the mill and the Zaanstreek and answered questions of the visitors. You are socially and controlled prefer a language other than Dutch.
One Tule gaps in your knowledge before you start naturally complemented by us.

Houtzagers help Miller sawing the wood. Trunks must be dragged up and stripped of their bark before it can be cut. The logs must be controlled, the sawing process are hoisted into the carriage, the workplace and exhibition space kept clean, and there are a thousand and one things that should be done.
